评分小說中一提到焚書我就心如刀絞。想像到一個沒有圖書的社會會是極其絕望的。雖然是大半個世紀前寫的，但是小說中對所謂“快餐文學”和“即時娛樂”的描寫可謂具有前瞻性。我們現在就被這些媒體所圍繞，我承認自己經常也會被其引誘。作者的文纔很棒，尤其在比喻和比擬。很多象徵的使用避免瞭說教。所謂“前事不忘，後事之師”。沒有知識自由地流通，沒有思想自如地擴散，社會不會嚮前、歷史還會重演。
