After the first few (lots of) chapters I began to sense the underlying torrents of this seemingly dreary land. The whole story is unsettlingly Arabian, with Muad'Dib full on cheating mode and the Fremen sweeping through the desert with their awe of water, power over the maker and total surrender to this ecological ideal.
