如果減少些“風流韻事”的篇幅，本書長度大概能壓縮掉五分之一。但那基本不影響敘事的精彩，就如同傳主本人即使有些人格上的缺陷，他仍然是一位偉大的平民英雄，度過瞭精彩的“有用”的一生，而作者將最閃光的地方都捕捉到瞭：“他從天空奪下瞭閃電，從暴君手中奪下瞭權杖”。Audible上對有聲書“怨聲載道”，其實朗讀者的聲音有老派味道，非常柔和動聽，對Franklin和Adams這兩位的形象塑造簡直絕妙（後者可能太卡通瞭一點，哈），而且語速緩慢，對非母語聽眾很友好????但是後期製作確實有問題，偶爾能聽到明顯的呼吸聲、吞咽聲，似乎還有嚼口香糖的聲音????

讀過Goodwin再看Isaacson覺得差好多啊，讀起來的勁頭就沒那麼足瞭。 Issac的寫作方法基本上很難讓人喜歡他傳記的主角，或者也可以反過來說，他喜歡寫這種優點和缺點同樣突齣的個性人物。用喜歡和不喜歡來描述BF也許太膚淺瞭，他是個相當復雜和多樣的人，就像他的涉獵一樣。不過他確實led such a nowadays typical American life。
