This is a study of product design. It provides an analysis of the similarities and differences in architecture and fashion. How can the rapid transformation of fashion be reconciled with the stability of architecture? Perhaps things were not always like this, partly because historical distance makes us concentrate the stylistic needs of a particular age into longer periods, partly because the acceleration of change has become the main expressive means of present-day society. Fashion and social behaviour are significant materials that offer points of referenceand content for the practice of architecture and visual arts.
