After nearly two decades in Britain, Bill Bryson took the decision to move back to the States for a while, to let his kids experience life in another country, to give his wife the chance to shop until 10 p.m. seven nights a week, and, most of all, because he had read the 3.7 million Americans believed that they had been abducted by aliens at one time or another, and it was thus clear to him that his people needed him. But before leaving his much-loved home in North Yorkshire, Bryson insisted on taking one last trip around Britain, a sort of valedictory tour of the green and kindly island that had so long been his home. 笑，笑，笑，大笑，喷水，喷饭…… 如果你打算看这本书，时刻记住不要在吃东西喝水的时候，或者不要看得太认真，唉，否则就会和我一样喷过水、牛奶、豆浆…… 作者多年写作经验使得他在词句运用上游刃有余，并且善于观察生活将在英国20年的生活经历，串连在一本书中描绘嬉笑...

书看了一半，还没看完。真心希望出版社能安排一张笔者环岛去到各个城镇的路线图。我之所以看的很慢，因为书里提到的每一个地方，我不熟悉的地方，景点，我都在网上搜一下，看看到底是在英国的哪里，风景是什么样。这样能帮助我体会作者书中的描述。有些幽默讽刺的地方是好笑的...

英文版在Kindle里囤了多少年了没开动，凤凰版的中文版忽然到手了，才读了几章就觉得翻译得很不错啊，虽然豆瓣评分居然低得匪夷所思。译者的用词传神地体现了英式黑色幽默，各种细节处的讽刺和揶揄，每一个热爱英剧or英式自黑的人都能体会吧～比如刚刚读到的这一段，恨不得每...

如果是原版，大概可以给四星。因为中文版莫名其妙的照片扣一星。有功夫弄这些照片，不如实实在在地整理一张布莱森的旅行线路图，会更有助于读者理解此书。看过环游澳大利亚的那一本（http://book.douban.com/subject/4887595/）才来看的这本。感觉不如前者，仔细思量，这似乎...
