好无聊的都市剧情，跳着看，看着跳，助眠效果极佳

基本上能猜到结局。除了几个主角，最欣赏的人物是Lara的秘书Marian，善良又聪明。“I think i understand her better thanyou do. Lara is maddly in love with you.She would do anyting to hold on to you.""let's forget all this, If you bring this up to her, it won't do any good, and it will only make things worse between the two fo you, i can easily find another job","life is not always fair"

看了几本Sidney的书以后再看这本，缺少了一些惊喜，文字一贯的简洁流畅，情节曲折生动。但都是一种模式，总是一个美丽无比，家境坎坷却颇具才干、满腹抱负的女主角，如何从卑微的社会地位走向令人炫目的成功。在这披荆斩棘的道路中所作的一个冒险决定会成为隐患，并在小说结尾全盘爆发，然后女主角辛苦挣来的一切都化为须有。不过，这本小说的结尾还是让我吃惊了一下，并且安排了一个好结局, I like that!!

Sidney Sheldon1993年9月出版的小说，开篇的场景是1992.9.10地产大亨Lara Cameron的生日晚宴，暴雨中私人飞机穿云而过，风驰电掣匆忙赶赴到富丽堂皇的晚宴大厅却空无一人……巨大的悬念一直贯穿到最后一章，不得不承认，的确在意料之外。整部小说就是 Iron Butterfly的奋斗史...

一口气读完的书，如同当年在大学里，迷上西德尼谢尔顿，好几本书都是一气读完，有的在后来还专门找来，如《钻石王朝》，特意从孔夫子旧书网买了一本，放在手里。这本书其实也很精彩，人物和故事情节都塑造得不错，足够的曲折，足够的悬念，不过，对我来说，吸引力不如以前。...
