娜恩·谢泼德 Nan Shepherd (1893-1981)，英国作家、诗人，一直生活于苏格兰阿伯丁，曾在阿伯丁教育学院教授英国文学。她终生未婚，与山为伴，阿伯丁附近的凯恩戈姆山区遍布她的脚印，作品也都以大山为主题，包括散文、小说和诗集。

管啸尘，1991年出生，湖北襄阳人，南京大学英语系毕业，从事翻译工作。

这是我今年读过的最喜欢的自然随笔了。娜恩·谢泼德用平实、质朴、温柔、细腻的文字描写大山和生命，也写出了我早就深有感触却难以付诸于文字表达的感受。比如登山的时候毫无恐惧，事后想起来却一阵后怕。然而一旦真正重新走了回去，又会被同一种激情裹挟，变得“异常狂乱”...
