评分關於剋蘇魯神話的印象派堆砌，在Hans Rodionoff筆下，來自遠古的白癡神成為瞭一種兒童幻想的夢魘，大規模的單色調塗抹和過於實體化的鬼怪形象，讓洛夫剋拉夫特的噩夢成為蒂姆·伯頓式的黑色童話。在這本書裡，故事性和驚恐性都讓位給瞭繪畫風格。
