Set in Greenwich Village, Harlem, and France, among other locales, Another Country is a novel of passions--sexual, racial, political, artistic--that is stunning for its emotional intensity and haunting sensuality, depicting men and women, blacks and whites, stripped of their masks of gender and race by love and hatred at the most elemental and sublime. 2019.5.21-7.1 The best book I've read so far this year.
评分A very intense book with sex, race, agony, segregation, internalized hatred... but I have to say, the book's very harsh on women, does not like that aspect at all
DNF。
