前言几乎把后面案例的理论介绍完毕。通篇是对梅隆庞蒂的身体性的解读，有些网友认为过于二元论。不过，我倒是对第一部分解读法国西部海岸线上的新石器巨石的一章颇感兴趣。基本上是把海浸和水源的故事、考古现场的物质构成、横向类比假说，整合到了一起。比《中国古代建筑史》要有意思得多。
