The evolution of vector (lowfat) motion graphics is an amazing story. It gained prominence in the printing industry around five years ago when vector based graphics were used by designers for the tracing of photographs, a process that gave images a fresh new look. A few years later, on the world wide web, people were astonished by vector based scalable animation created using Macromedia Flash. Vector graphics allowed designers to move objects dynamically and whilst these images may no longer look cool on the web vector based animation still works particularly well in the medium of television. Lowfat Graphics features over fifty vector graphic designers from around the world and although its primary focus is on vector based animation for broadcasting it also addresses still images.
