i don't like her, at all.

雖然不喜歡勃朗特傢族中的大姐（可能是因為不喜歡簡愛的緣故），但不得不承認她的文筆是三姐妹中最優雅純熟的。小說可以寫的如詩歌一般美，而且把這世間的愛恨情仇寫的細緻但不做作。個人認為結尾章簡直堪稱維多利亞時期最美的小說結局。

Tony Tanner給企鵝版寫的引言和原書一樣精彩，用薩特的lack和need分析女主人公從飄忽不定到安於其位的過程。有個不解，lack和need不是從黑格爾那裏就有嗎，為何要援引薩特？
