达尔文（1809-1882），英国博物学家，进化论的奠基人。1825年至1828年达尔文在爱丁堡大学学医，后进入剑桥大学学习神学。1831年从剑桥大学毕业后，以博物学家的身份乘海军勘探船“小猎犬号”作历时5年（1831-1836）的环球旅行，观察和搜集了动物、植物的地质等方面的大量材料，经过归纳整理和分析，形成了生物进化的概念。1859年出版《物种起源》一书，全面提出以自然选择为基础的进化学说。该书出版震动当时的学术界，使当时生物学各领域已经形成的概念和观念发生根本性的改变。

书真的是不错，达尔文环球之旅非常吸引人。但不得不说，本书的翻译实在是太差了。“种”和“品种”搅和了半天，译者最后自己也没明白。其他语言上和科学上的错误随处可见。 希望下次再翻译此类图书时，出版社要找个专业人士把把关。
评分最初我只知道达尔文写过那本著名的《物种起源》，并不知道还有这本书的存在。大概好几年前，CCTV—9播出纪录片《追寻达尔文的航程》，那个银发作家站在阿姆斯特丹号的甲板上面对南美极地海洋冰山的壮丽景色动情朗读《“小猎犬”号科学考察记》上对浮洋冰山的描述：“群山常年被...
评分这本书翻译 简直就是垃圾！我先购买了中国大陆出版的《乘小猎犬号环球航行》 再在台湾城邦书店购买了《小猎犬号航海记》随便翻阅 对比了一下 发现前者简直就是误人子弟 比如说 大陆版的第八章 有一章节 翻译为“蝴蝶雪” 而台版翻译为“蝴蝶群” 大陆版的第十五章出现“红...
