评分比起譯本而言，原本可以更好地體現兩個特點：第一是所謂“冰山”，未必是情節的簡練，相反是用更還原的態度來展現一個故事，換句話說，不做過多的上帝視角描寫。第二，海明威是真的喜歡不斷的重復一句很簡單的話…

评分當年隨便翻書架翻的A Day's Wait，很喜歡，但跟這本短篇集裏風格不大一樣。用字簡練，對話的反復，海明威的小說看起來容易，但是理解起來不簡單，他會把一些東西藏起來，所謂冰山理論，尤其是A Sea Change，沒看批評傢的解釋，還真不知道其中的奧秘。必須有文本解讀配套，而且文筆不優美，但是老海有他的特點和風格。
