Tom McCarthy 对细节的捕捉和感觉的描摹让人叹为观止，我觉得很难有人在阅读这本书（也包括 Satin Island）的时候丝毫感觉不到生理上的不适。包括他的比喻和通感，绝对让人有一种在心里回荡过无数次的似曾相识终于落在纸面上的畅快。叙事策略上也许还是 Satin Island 更胜一筹，但 Remainder 稍微有些不加节制的冷酷疯狂也是大有可观了。
