评分Thorne和Guth是写科普写的最好的一流物理学家，霍金不是。他们两位有三个共同的优点：一是能把很复杂的物理概念用很清晰的物理图景描述出来；第二，这不但是一本好的科普书，还是一本很好的科学史书，把从广义相对论诞生到二十世纪九十年代与黑洞研究相关的历史、人物写得精彩纷呈，好多掌故我都是第一次听说；第三，整本书的语气自信而不傲慢，有趣而亲切。
评分Kip在我心中变得日益伟大，很想在他活着的时候见他一面。这本书优点太多了，渐渐也有了自己的读的方式，最后三章关于黑洞本质，量子引力，时间机器的讨论还没看。 准备写一篇读书笔记，特别是四五六三章。
