Dan is the author of two best-selling books: Bulletproof Web Design (New Riders) and Web Standards Solutions (Friends of ED). Dan also runs the popular weblog SimpleBits, where he writes articles and commentary on the Web, technology, and life. He also plays a mean ukulele and occasionally wears a baseball cap.

Each chapter starts out with an example of an unbulletproof site one that employs a traditional HTML-based approach which Dan then deconstructs, pointing out its limitations. He then gives the site a make-over using XHTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), so you can see how to replace bloated code with lean markup and CSS for fast-loading sites that are accessible to all users. Finally, he covers several popular fluid and elastic-width layout techniques and pieces together all of the page components discussed in prior chapters into a single-page template.

读过这本书，学校图书馆就有，纸质特好，读起来很舒服。重点是它讲的道理都深入浅出，给人深刻印象，让我收获很大。很喜欢。
评分用了两个晚上翻完了，觉得没有《精通CSS》让我学到的东西多。比较适合初学Web标准的同学。不过，可以看出作者确实有着丰富的实战经验。
评分和卖弄术语和语言拗口，逻辑混乱的国内CSS书籍不同，该书目标明确，陈述有条理，非常浅显但又不是废话连篇，作为CSS入门和基本概念的辨析是很好的书籍。 只是最后2章关于布局的是使用70%,30%之类的弹性分列式布局，不适合国内的网站，我认为不太实用。
