读了“Metropolitan Perceptions and the Emergence of Modernism”这篇，开篇线头有点多，跟的比较吃力，中间列出了五个现象，跟齐美尔的论点有相通之处，后面提出了很ground-breaking的论点，说在关注现代主义形式的断裂之外，还要意识到主题的延续，然而却没细讲？

Ch 2: Historicization of modernist universals; how metropolitan conditions of miscellaneity (alienation; immigrant experience) necessitate aesthetics of universality (e.g., emphasis on media); global expansion of metropolitan perceptions and the need to specify categories of modern/modernism. 两个RW没细讲但可深挖的点：城市科学量化管理与20C早期文学的全知视角；人工照明等基础设施与城市文化建构。
