还以为《牛津高阶英汉双解词典》到了第9版，被那么多专家教授校阅过，已经不可能挑出硬伤来了，结果extraordinary rendition这里，我只看中文就发现了不对的地方，再看英语释义，果然是翻译错了，而且是翻译得恰好相反。这个短语第8版好像没有，是第9版新加的，这次是第一次翻...

oil rig 不是石油钻塔而是石油钻机钻塔指的是井架drilling tower=derrick 钻塔仅仅是钻机的一部份。我只翻了第7版、第8版，错得一样，估计其他版本也错了。另外，其他词典也犯了类似的错误，只不过他们的例证是drilling rig而已，这个是钻探用的钻机。《最新英汉百科图...

虽然已经过去二十多年，但仍不失为英语学习者最好的工具书。相比之下，第六版第七版限词，于是解释篇幅变长；同时删掉了诸多习语；而且，这两版和柯林斯很多解释居然一字不差。但相对来说，第四版有些解释已经过时，新词或旧词新义没有收录。
