Will is new to Sheffield institute, but quickly befriends Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin, four girls with whom will learns to share her mysterious supernatural abilities. Together they discover that they need to protect Earth from the evil of Metamoor. But things go seriously wrong for the girls at the school's Halloween dance when Metamoor henchmen crash the party and attempt to capture them. The girls have to command their newly discovered powers in their first battle against evil.
Already an international phenomenon, the W.i.t.c.h. series features five friends--Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin (W.i.t.c.h.)--who each have the power to control a natural element. The girls use their powers to guard against evil and to uncover the truth behind mysterious portals leading to other worlds.
W.I.T.C.H. is a fantasy/superhero comic series created in Italy by Elisabetta Gnone. It tells the story of five teenage girls who are chosen to be the new Guardians of Kandrakar, who protect the center of the universe from people and creatures who wish to cause harm to it. For this purpose, they have been given powers over the five elements.
The title W.I.T.C.H is an abbreviation of the first letters of the main characters' names: Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin.
