非全譯本。

读的第一部韩南作品，其实大多属于介绍性质，有点失望，不过是汉学的经典之作。引经据典，旁征博引。译文翻译腔很浓，勉强可以。

介绍性

题为“白话小说”，但从内容看应为“话本小说”更为妥当。总体还是以西方叙事学的思路去考察中国小说，尤以第一章关于“文学分析的六大层次”的论述值得注意，即：说话者、焦点、谈话型、风格（又分为地方语言和通行语言）、意义（又分为系列、构造和解释）、语音。虽与中国叙事学的框架未必尽合，却也不失为一个独特的视角。对于文言小说与白话小说之差异这部分的论述也可参考。
