鼓勵性十足，故事性亦非常有趣。作者非常慷慨地把自己所有經驗傳授齣來，獨立電影人必讀，學院派支持者亦應參考。創作此書時是90年代，我認為現今進入電影數碼化時代，我們亦應有一個像Robert Rodriguez的創作人，一個從未讀過電影的人，沒有透過任何投資基金或創作峰會，以更低成本創作，講述現代用數碼相機拍攝的過程，傳授數碼剪接的技巧和基本後期知識，而更重要的是介紹Robert沒有談及的現代物料處理，例如格式和DCP製作，以及後來的影片發行，甚至如何利用網絡進行為自己的電影宣傳等過程亦應一站式介紹，打破電影圈的神秘，鼓勵更多獨立電影人走齣來。我預視十年內電影圈必定會齣產一個這樣的人，捲起真的新浪潮，我甚至希望這個是我。 (29/6/2017-30/5/2018: 扮工閱讀, 中途暫停9個月)
