评分being the earliest novel by truman capote, the literary merits of this book could be of less importance as i see this book as a testament of "an original voice". the delicate wording of the inner struggle of grady mcneil is definitely an assuring sign.

评分喜欢他的文字，各种比喻和意象让人印象深刻；但读原文时要在整篇散乱的句式中梳理故事情节和复杂的心理活动其实并不容易。评论说从他这第一本书就可以窥见他后来的风格，所以我猜想在这种冗长和多重插入语的句式中交待意识流般的复杂情感和心理活动可能就是他的风格，对读者来说，也是很特别的阅读体验
