The book is divided into two interactive parts, one devoted to the visual arts and the other to design and architecture. It covers three themes:
- The development of the information and communication technologies that generate mutations and give rise to new ways of perceiving space and time and create new languages;
- In the postcolonial and globalised world, society redefines itself through its different communities whose identity is based on national, cultural or religious bases;
- As society dematerialises whole swathes of its activities via the new information and communication technologies, what criteria do we adopt to define ourselves as individuals?
The reproduced works present new and recent works of contemporary artists, designers and architects that have a specific resonance with the themes examined.
