CLIVE STAPLES LEWIS (1898-1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a fellow and tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954 when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance English at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. 讲的古代宇宙论。写得比《从封闭世界到无限宇宙》好，虽然两者目的完全不同吧。致力于给人一种感性、全面、超越字面的认识，可仍然是你之前读过的东西越多越能理解他在说什么。如果之前并没有了解过托勒密宇宙模型甚至没读过但丁，没有一些观念史基础，那可能得先补充一下知识，否则就跟读充满无法理解的冗余信息的维基百科宇宙论词条没什么区别了。
