讀瞭之後愈發覺得《月光寶石》比這本書更配得上偵探小說之祖。愛倫·坡的東西還是定位成都市奇譚比較好

三篇整體來說都很平庸。第二篇先是陳列各種猜測，再由Dupin一個一個推翻，實在是太死闆瞭，作案手法其實不錯，卻是最無趣的一篇。第三篇中Prefect和兩人的對話其實讓小說生動很多，但到瞭推理的環節愛倫坡又犯瞭絮絮叨叨的老毛病。隻能當作早期推理小說傢對推理小說的探索來讀。
