This comprehensive course adds such features as isometric hand exercises, finger strengthening drills, and written assignments that reinforce each lesson's concepts. There is a smooth, logical progression between each lesson, a thorough explanation of chord theory and playing styles, and outstanding extra songs, including folk, classical, and contemporary selections. At the completion of this course, the student will have learned to play some of the most popular music ever written and will have gained a good understanding of basic musical concepts and styles. The CD has accompaniments to support the student's playing of the exercises and songs found in the Level 1 book.

评分想想这本书居然练了将近一年啦，一开始就是抱着一步一个脚印夯实基础的目的选的这套书，绝不看任何带有速成/几天突破/高效等关键词的教材。但实际练的过程中还是会多多少少有点儿急着赶进度。大概六七个月弹完整本书，可是又花了很长时间重新弹，难点反复弹。也几乎没给人展示过自学成果，因为我觉得现阶段任何一首曲子弹得熟练都不代表什么，因为它展示的不是功力的整体真实水平，是一直打磨的那一个小面而已，虽然可以满足一下下虚荣心，还是不要自欺欺人比较好。练到后来我的时间几乎是以曲子的难度来当刻度的了。我想除了练习弹琴的技法，这也是个磨练心性的好机会了，对于我来说就是学会停止，学会放下，学会不钻牛角尖，相信自己的大方向是对的，对小目标的追求上也要用大目标的平和心态。说回这本书，如果没有油馆上的雷锋们，可能也不太好用。
