作者查尔斯.罗森Charles Rosen（1927—2012）：美国钢琴家，音乐著述家和批评家。他出生于纽约的一个建筑师之家，自幼习琴，少年时拜著名钢琴家、李斯特的弟子莫里茨•罗森塔尔为师，可算是李斯特显赫谱系的“嫡传”。他的正式职业身份是音乐会钢琴家，他对音乐文献的主要贡献是《古典风格》。

译者杨燕迪（1963— ），音乐学家、音乐评论家、音乐翻译家，现任上海音乐学院副院长、教授。
