A collection of 22 plays originally produced at the Caffe Cino in Greenwich Village, circa 1959-1967, with memoir-style essays by many of the pioneers who helped to launch the revolution that took place in American theatre on the Cino's 8-by-8-foot stage. Contributors include such Broadway legends as actress Bernadette Peters, playwright Edward Albee, and director Tom O'Horgan.
