"Unfocused but frequently illuminating meditations on how we see and how we don't. "這個評語相當恰當，寫得太鬆懈，可以說是自我感受未經辨析的肆意鋪張。但是主題是很好的。我們往往並不能看到對象－他物，甚至最親密的人也是視而不見的。倫勃朗和哈默休伊真正完整、以溫柔的不掩飾看到對象，甚至維米爾都不能這樣直接看，因為他看的是想象－imagery。
