沒有比這更言之無物的小說瞭。絕大多數段落，散漫無中心，毫無存在意義。作者完全沒有展示齣過去是如何影響和定義現在的。所有人物的solitude都不明所以，毫無說服力。全書中，wonder 一詞不知道是否齣現過一百萬次，每次看到都如同蚊子嗡嗡讓我煩躁不堪。我沒有棄書的習慣，三百頁看下來，痛苦死瞭。。

Yiyun Li is the author of A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, The Vagrants, and Gold Boy, Emerald Girl. A native of Beijing and a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she is the recipient of a MacArthur Foundation fellowship, the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award, the Hemingway Foundation/PEN Award, the Whiting Writers’ Award, and the Guardian First Book Award. Granta named her one of the best American novelists under thirty-five, and The New Yorker named her one of twenty U.S. writers under forty to watch. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, A Public Space, The Best American Short Stories, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and elsewhere.
