Nana's Quilt is the story of Allie and her grandmother, who spend a summer exploring the city of St. John's. They visit six tourist attractions that make the city unique, and begin to make a quilt that illustrates each place. By summer's end, Allie appreciates the beauty and history of her city. The completed quilt is a lasting memory of her time with Nana. All of the artwork for this book was produced in conjunction with local artists by the children of Hazelwood Elementary School in St. John's, Newfoundland. Kathy Windsor is a primary teacher who enjoys writing stories or poems to enhance lessons. Lori Lane's love of knitting, sewing and quilting inspired ideas for writing Nana's Quilt.
