《人鼠之间》，斯坦贝克1937年的中篇小说。书名取自罗伯特.伯恩斯的诗歌《致老鼠》中的句子“人和老鼠的命运，时常被扭曲”。斯坦贝克大概是悲观主义者。悲观主义的作品永远都能和现实息息相关，因为现实基本是越来越糟的。读书还是要读经典，尽管斯坦贝克当时获诺奖有不少人“嘘”他，但今天读来依旧醇厚，语言，修辞，比现在的畅销书耐读多了，结尾出乎我的意料。而且斯坦贝克式的心酸是能折磨你好几个星期的。
