Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her "our little genius".
Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh.

Incredibly refreshing and horrifying
评分被同事哄著讀瞭本僵屍傳。視角在僵屍類題材裏算獨特，驚悚遠不如walking dead （解釋瞭為什麼它在普通小說而非恐怖小說欄），故事也沒有特彆驚艷，孩子不夠孩子氣，對人性的探討又異常稀釋，不能說是本壞書，就算是本平庸的好書吧
评分2.5/5 A philosophical meditation on humanity, TGWATG tells a pretty conventional zombie/post-apocalypse story in an unconventional way, measuring the virtues and vices of the human race in its unfolding; but the overly technical language and the slow pace in which events unfold can be so tormenting for readers who are not so excited about zombies.
评分Delicate writing, indicating the thought of both dark and bright side of human nature. The main character has great self regulation. The end is kind of shocked, but probably is the reasonable ending the nature in that world gives, the reasonable ending they deserves. (The hungry kid with consciousness is a real human form.)
