Neanderthal Man tells the story of geneticist Svante Pääbo’s mission to answer this question, and recounts his ultimately successful efforts to genetically define what makes us different from our Neanderthal cousins. 补标。大胆的自传，看过之后再次觉得天才的人生总会有些无需解释的奇葩点……本科时上顾博的进化课最早听到尼人基因组测序的故事，而且印象挺深那篇文章出人意料地发在了Cell上，时隔多年从这本书里重温细节。另外当时课上还提到张昀老师从恐龙蛋里克隆到基因片段，投稿被拒的故事，当时只听一面之辞觉得很不公平很可惜，读完本书的某章节也有了更客观的认识。

实在是太精彩了，有爱情有友情有争分夺秒也有苦苦找寻却停滞不前，把复杂的问题讲明白需要真正的学识，把一点一滴脚踏实地的日常研究讲有趣需要一颗赤子之心，2019年的开篇就看到这样一本从各个维度都给人提升的书真是幸福的事情，好莱坞为啥还不把它拍成电影，简直就是科学界的寻宝大片！
