概括精当，酣畅透彻，好的思想史就应该像这样，把“演化”“艺术家崇拜”“种族主义”“男女分工”等看似自然而然的观念追本溯源，发人深省。可惜书名起得草率，应该叫“论自由的几种概念”或者“十九世纪欧洲中产阶级社会下的几个思想母题”。
