A journalist is asked to write an article about one of South Korea's most unique writers, Bak Bugil. He begins to carefully reconstruct Bak's childhood through his novels, press articles and interviews. Bak lives with his parent's relations, but is forbidden to go near a Persimmon tree that stands near a hut on the property. Bak disobeys the order and is repeatedly rebuked and beaten. But an encounter with the inhabitant of the hut changes his life forever.
