The Design for Aging Review, 5th edition, is a compilation of nearly seventy projects that serve aging adults. These projects were submitted for The American Institute of Architects (AIA) 1999-2000 competition in the areas of nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, assisted living, and more. A jury of architects and gerontology experts reviewed each of the submissions to select an exciting, diverse range of projects to illustrate the future of design for the aging population. The projects included in this review contain the best in design for aging, and also present a broad overview of the design for aging architectural, design, and consultant community's responses to a variety of programs, budgets, and challenges. 186470098X
