Set in the dawning civil rights era in Mississippi, The View From Delphi is the story of two young mothers, Hazel and Vida. Hazel is white and newly privileged and Vida is black and newly destitute. The devastating loss of their sons, and a deep and abiding loathing for one another seems to be their only tie. The situation is turned upside down when the odd pairing figures out they need each other and their anger and distrust turns into the most unlikely and frowned upon friendship south of the Mason-Dixie line.
