From Paris Hilton and Britney Spears to ipods and video games, teen culture is full of obsessions. Obsessions that have become a way of life. Whether it's cell phones or boys, grades or body image, girls are easily consumed by people and things that have become gods in their lives. Idol Girls speaks directly to the hearts of teenage girls who are suffering mental, emotional, and spiritual fallout as a result. In typical Hungry Planet form, Hayley offers girls a straightforward, in-your-face look at the obsessions that draw them away from God. Idol Girls exposes both good things (relationships, exercise, religion, eating, cleanliness) and bad things (self-condemnation, cutting, sex, addiction) that can take the place of God. Pulling no punches, Hayley calls teens to take a serious look at who--or what--is the Lord of their lives.
