Alain de Botton is the author of a number of books that try to throw light on the big challenges of our lives. His books have been sold in thirty-five countries and many have been international bestsellers, including How Proust Can Change Your Life, Essays in Love and The Art of Travel. 评分确实是essay无疑。全篇冷静客观，讲述了恋爱中多个必经阶段，掺杂了哲学辩论和心理学分析，作为串联的“故事”本身反而显得次要。阿兰德波顿的语言很流畅，tone也让人很舒服，伦敦文艺绅士腔。
