Jack London (12 January 1876 – 22 November 1916) was an American author who wrote The Call of the Wild and other books. A pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction, he was one of the first Americans to make a lucrative career exclusively from writing.

Jack London's adventure masterpiece is not only a vivid account of the Klondike gold rush and North American Indian life, but it is also an intriguing study of the effects different environments have on an individual. Celebrate the centennial anniversary of the classic tale of a wolf-dog who endures great cruelty before he comes to know human kindness.

...he betrayed a trifle of his old self-consciousness and awkwardness. this passed away as the puppies' antics and mauling continued, and he lay with half-shut, patient eyes, drowsing in the sun... 相比《the call of the wild》,我更喜欢《white fang》,虽然野性被驯化,但是我被人和动物之间的情谊所感动。
