讀完絕大部分重要文本。據德國同學講英文翻譯算是靠譜。每篇前背景介紹和注釋增進理解。覆蓋從青年馬剋思到晚年恩格斯的一係列重要文獻。既可見嚴肅謹慎的分析，亦有恣意汪洋的文學手法，原教旨式癲狂筆觸，更不乏順應時勢和為權力鬥爭服務的權變。

大概讀瞭其中的2/3，暫時放下，讀本多少讓人有點摸不著頭腦，不過選的篇目都很好，除瞭大傢都知道capital,手稿，德意誌什麼的，還有on jewish question這種能讓人全方位去理解馬剋思的篇目。也真心磨人>.<

二十歲開始讀，到現在都五年瞭。

和第一版相比，第二版的马恩文选增加了数篇重要的材料，如the Grundrisse的节选。一本在手，马恩的经典文字几可说是尽在其中。虽然受篇幅所限，某些长文不得不进行节选摘录，但是编者眼光精到，很能把握住关键的文字。
