Carl loves his dog Mooch. Carl and Mooch are both nine years old-but that makes Mooch 63 in people years. She's getting old, her fur is faded, she's deaf and mostly blind. When Carl was younger, Mooch help him deal with the loss of his father; but now, she sleeps most of the time. When she sleeps through a break-in at his house, Carl is afraid his mother will send her away. But Carl's mom loves Mooch almost as much as he does. Mooch and Me is a touching story about a boy and his dog, and the inevitability of change and loss.
