Conor McPherson has risen to the ranks as one of Ireland's most gifted playwrights. In his newest play, opening in the new Royal Court Theatre in London this winter, McPherson is again at his spellbinding best. Dublin Carol, set on Christmas Eve at a mortuary office in Dublin, examines the life of a man who has spent years escaping from the past only to be confronted with all its ghosts by a visit from his daughter asking for him to arrange for the burial of his dying ex-wife.
