算是Galois理论的入门读物，但是讲得太简略．域的各种扩张都是一带而过，而且主要定理的证明都用到了习题中的内容．如果只是想大致了解一下Galois理论，看看倒也无妨；但是如果要想熟练掌握，这本书显然不够，还得是标准的研究生教材才行，比如GTM073或者与之篇幅和名气相等的代数书．

很多证明写在习题里面，结合Rotman的Advanced Modern Algebra才能看得比较清楚，不适合新手，适合有基础的学生快速入门Galois

It now begins with a short section on symmetry groups of polygons in the plane, for there is an analogy between polygons and their symmetry groups and polynomials and their Galois groups - an analogy which serves to help readers organise the various field theoretic definitions and constructions. The text is rounded off by appendices on group theory, ruler-compass constructions, and the early history of Galois Theory. The exposition has been redesigned so that the discussion of solvability by radicals now appears later and several new theorems not found in the first edition are included.
