Modern Couples Sharing Money, Sharing Life is the result of a five-year collaboration of sociologists in three very different countries: Sweden, Spain and the USA, investigating how individuals in intimate couple relationships navigate their daily lives in the context of a changed and changing modernity. In-depth, extended interviews were conducted with couples in exploring questions about their financial arrangements, housework, child-care, careers, leisure time activities and sexual relations. The focus of the book is primarily on their financial arrangements, exploring the meaning of money, individualization, and gender in the context of couple relationships today.
