Winner of Kore Press' 2004 First Book Poetry Award, judged by Carolyn Forche. Fries grew up in Pennsylvania and has since lived, and written, all over the country. She writes of returning to Pennsylvania ten years ago: a return to her past and to the genesis of her poetry.
