ISLAND a land mass completely surrounded by water, insular and isolated. Yet regardless of how isolated the island self may feel, all the parts actually connect, though at great depth. Jeanette Clough s poetry takes the willing reader to those depths, sounding the separate self to find the common ground that joins every so-called island. This is a book of missives, messages, grace notes rolled up in a bottle and set to sea. The reader is invited to join an expedition that explores and extends the singular continent each of us inhabits.
