本书讲述的是一战后期，发生在澳大利亚的事。简单来说是就是女主调查drug dealer身份的故事。个人觉得女主颇有魅力。小说情节有些单薄，缺少探案小说应有的悬疑感。看改编的电视剧感觉比看书更有感觉。

就故事本身来说我感觉不久以后我会忘记，但几乎所有读过这个系列的读者都表示这个从80年代开始的系列书籍其实真的是越写越好的。所以我大概会慢慢读下去。原因就是Miss Fisher实在是太可爱了，每当我下意识觉得她怎么有点张扬夸张且风流的时候，我突然会紧接着问自己：我怎么这么多年后还是被男作者男导演绑架？换任何一个男主角，007为代表的一系列男英雄，他们张扬夸张、风流潇洒的时候我有多眨几次眼么？此外Miss Fisher还有点小小的动作片...哈哈，她没有强大到无与伦比，但是可以优秀到在男人的天地里展开拳脚，就为这些，我愿意进入她的精彩世界。
